What can I drink at Lake Como? Try RIVO Foraged Gin!

In the fields around Lake Como you can find medicinal herbs: Thyme, Melissa, Santoreggia and  Pimpinella. These are secret places where local women have been gathering herbs and flowers for the preparation of magic remedies since ancient times.

From these botanicals, wisely collected by hand after walking for many kilometers along the slopes of the mountains surrounding the lake, RIVO Foraged Gin is created.

Salad burnet, winter savory, lemon balm and Breckland thyme are among the local herbs we forage and combine with juniper, coriander, cardamom and angelica to create RIVO Gin’s unique flavor bouquet.

Staying true to its Italian roots, RIVO Gin is an artisan product made with passion and love. The distillation happens in
small batches and using only the finest botanicals.
There are no additives, sugars or artificial ingredients. RIVO Gin is 43% alcohol by volume and is made from Italian grain alcohol.

Como: the World Silk Capital

“ Who was Pietro Boldoni?” one guest asked some days ago. She was having a walk through the city centre when she noticed a street called “Via Pietro Boldoni”.

Do you know who was this man? He was the introducer of the silk industry in Como in the XVI century.
In fact,  the most ancient factory for the silk manufacture dates back to 1510 and it is represented by a throwing mill built by Pietro Boldoni.

Even today the city of Como is considered the World Silk Capital and it’s the perfect location to enhance your wardrobe:  scarfs, ties, clothing and accessories. In other words, a manifacturing excellence of “Made in Italy”.
