How to spend your days of vacation in Como

If you are asking yourself how you should spend your days of vacation in Como, think no further.  The historic and picturesque city leaves you with many possibilities on what to do in our beautiful summer weather.

To start off your stay here, you could take a ride on the ferry to one of the many unique cities located along the shoreline of the lake.  The boat dock is conveniently located just across the street from our hotel, and our staff is more than willing to help you understand the boat schedule.  Bellagio, known as the “pearl of Lake Como,” offers shopping, tasty places to eat and the beautiful gardens of Villa Melzi.

Back in Como, take time to visit Brunate, a small village located on the top of a mountain adjacent to Como, and most well known for it’s great panoramic view of Como and the southern part of the lake.  You could either hike up if you enjoy getting some exercise in, or take the funicular to the top.  For the exercise enthusiasts, you can choose to walk even further to the lighthouse, which provides you with an even more spectacular view of the lake.  On a clear day, you can see an amazing sunset from Brunate as well – we highly recommend it!

In the center of Como, take a stroll and visit the historic sites, such as the Cattedrale di S. Maria Assunta, the Basilica di S. Fedele and Teatro Sociale di Como.  One the lake, take a scenic walk to Villa Olmo, located on the left-hand side of the lake.  While walking there, you will pass through the park and see Tempio Voltiano as well as the new Life Electric sculpture.

If you are looking to take in some sun, spend an afternoon at Villa Olmo and relax on the beach while sipping on a refreshing cocktail from the bar there.  No matter what way you choose to spend your time here, you will find yourself relaxed not wanting to leave by the end of your stay.
